I Am What I Do

They say in order for new things to be born, the old must die. This seems true for empires, people, technology, trends, and just about everything else in life. Creation is a process of stepping out of what once was, and into what now is.

I live a life of constant evolution. My reality is one in which there is always something better to strive for. A better thought , a better lyric, a better song, a better me. Old thoughts of the past just perish. New life is given to the future. We as humans have a tendency to stare back into the past.

We look back as if everything we have done defines us. However, it does not. It is what you do now in the present that makes you who you are. The past is permanent and the future is yet to be determined. Only in the present can we take action. One decision, one act, one move could change who you are. This is true for everyone.

From the inmates with checkered pasts to the Grade A students who've never done bad. A single scripture could change the prisoner. A single drink could shift the student. Our actions reveal the true character within us.

You may feel that your heart is pure while you're doing wrong. But what good is the world's fastest car if its tires never touch the track? How can a cure for cancer affect anyone's life if it's locked away in a safe. Therefore, what you do is who you are. Break your routine and be what you want to be. At the end of the day, you're the only that has to live with what you've done and do on a daily basis.
